Australia's best female kiteboarder Marine Sudre is living her dream.
The 19 year old is ranked in the top four in the world and finished last season with five wins in seven countries.
She’s also won the Coconet Classics three times in a row (07-08-09).
Sudre said she got into kiteboarding four years ago with her father.
"He wanted me to try it out with him, and so I did and we both got hooked,'' she said.
"We still go out for a sail together on holidays or even just at home when it's windy.”
A university degree in interior design is now on hold and the Kite Pro World Tour (KPWT) is a reality.
"When I first thought about doing the whole tour I was a bit nervous,” she said.
“Leaving home on April 1 and going from competition to competition without coming back home to Australia until mid December was a bit scary," she said.
"But my family had so much trust in me that it pushed me to go out there and have an enormous amount of fun.
"All I needed to do is train hard and try to get some podiums. I had doubts about the "fun" part of the tour, but it turned out to be the best year of my life."
"I think this is the best way to grow up, meaning to expand your horizons and discover your level and your capacity towards others in the world."
